Picard tries to finish his old archaeology teacher's monumental last mission: solving a puzzle. Dec 18, 2017. THE CHASE presenter Bradley Walsh may have accidentally teased his upcoming departure from the quiz show on today's Loose Women. I don't know why this movie is so underrated. I never hear anything about it, as if it's a bad secret that no one wants to get out. I don't see why. This movie was fun to watch. I know, its kind of simple and not very 'edgy' or anything like that, but who cares really. It's still good. Charlie Sheen gave a great performance as Jackson Hammond, an escaped convict who is the cause of the chase. Kirsty Swanson was also very well cast as the spoiled, kidnapped, rich daughter; Natalie Voss. Henry Rollins was also very well cast as the cocky Officer Dobbs, and Josh Mostel was good as Dobbs' partner, Officer Figus. Marshall Bell was actually not the type of person to play Ari Josephson, Hammond's lawyer. But he managed to pull it off well I see. Everyone else was well cast for the most part, no flawed performances to speak of. The story was kind of shallow but still enjoyable. There were twists and turns here and there but it all worked out. The soundtrack was GREAT. The Offspring, NOFX, Rancid, and Bad Religion are some of my favorite bands and I was surprised that their songs were played in this movie. I rate this an 8/10, see this movie, it is somehow very good. Generally, for most accounts, you may withdraw funds the next business day after the business day you deposit them whether at the ATM or at a teller. But in some cases you may not be able to immediately withdraw or write checks against deposited funds. If funds from a deposit become 'available' and you can withdraw funds, that does not mean the check or other item you've deposited is 'good,' has 'cleared,' or has been paid by the paying bank. It's possible that the item will be returned unpaid months after we've made the funds available to you and you've withdrawn them. No one, including our employees, can guarantee you that a check or other item will not be returned. Chase is in the process of re-issuing most Debit Cards to include Chip Technology. Chip Technology, which is relatively new to the United States, is already the standard in many countries around the globe. The new technology gives the customer all the benefits of a traditional card plus an extra layer of security. Chase is moving quickly to add this feature to our cards so that, as chip technology becomes available more in the U.S., our customers will be ready to take advantage of the enhanced security. If a customer uses a chip card at a chip-enabled ATM, he or she will be prompted to insert the card into the card reader slot and leave it until the transaction is complete. During the transaction, the card is generating a unique-one time code, a feature that is virtually impossible to replicate in a counterfeit card. If the customer does not have a chip enabled card or is using an ATM that does not accept chip technology, the ATM will not hold onto the card. The customer will continue with the traditional method of card insertion. ATM access code is currently only available at select in-branch Chase ATMs within the following metro areas: Columbus, OH; Jacksonville, FL; Miami, FL; Fort Lauderdale, FL Boca Raton, FL; San Francisco, CA (including East Bay and Walnut Creek); San Jose, CA (including Silicon Valley); Marin County, CA and Napa, CA. We are working to make this feature available at more Chase ATMs and in additional markets over the next several months. There are some locations and ATMs that do not offer the service. When you request your ATM access code, a list of locations near your current location that can accept the code will be provided. For locations with multiple ATMs, not all ATMs at that location may be enabled to accept an access code. A blue “Enter ATM access code” button on the bottom right of the ATM screen will indicate if the service is available at a particular ATM. The ATM access code generated from the Chase Mobile app cannot be used at non-Chase ATMs. You must have a Chase consumer checking, savings or Chase Liquid account and the most current version of the Chase Mobile app downloaded on your phone, with location services turned on. Customers with a business account or combined personal/business account will not be able to use the ATM access code functionality at this time. Sign in to your Chase Mobile app and tap the “Get ATM access code” link on your main accounts page. A new screen will appear that provides your one-time-use ATM access code, a timer showing how long the code will be active, and nearby Chase branch and select ATM locations where the code can be used. Currently, only customers with a primary residential address in the Columbus, OH; Jacksonville, FL; Miami, FL; Fort Lauderdale, FL; Boca Raton, FL; San Francisco, CA (including East Bay and Walnut Creek); San Jose, CA (including Silicon Valley); Marin County, CA; and Napa, CA. Markets are able to use this functionality. The ATM access code is also not currently available for customers with a business account or combined personal and business account. Be sure to have your mobile phone’s location services enabled for the Chase Mobile app. There may also not be any Chase ATMs that can accept an ATM access code close to your location when you request the code. Online Bill Pay is a service where you can pay virtually anyone—your utilities, credit cards, even your landscaper. Payments are secure, and you can schedule a one-time or repeating payment. You can make bill payments in minutes— much faster than sending checks through the mail—and you'll save money by eliminating postage. Depending on the type of payee, your payment will be made electronically (delivered in 1 or 2 days) or by paper check (delivered in 5 days). We'll make payments to your Chase payees the same day if you schedule it before the Online Bill Pay cutoff time. We'll begin the delivery process on the date that you specify. If you're paying a Chase loan using a Chase Pay From account, you'll choose a 'Payment date.' In most cases, we'll remove the money from the Pay From account and apply it to your card or loan on the same business day you initiate the payment. If you're using a non-Chase Pay From account, we'll send a request for funds to your Pay From account the same day you initiate the payment. It generally takes about two business days for the funds to be deducted from your Pay From account, but it could take longer, depending on the length of time it takes the paying financial institution to process the transaction. If you're paying an external (non-Chase) payee, you can choose either a 'Send on' or 'Deliver by' date. Whichever date you choose, we'll automatically fill in the other date. We begin the payment process on the 'Send on' date and that is the day we withdraw the money from your account. The 'Deliver by' date is when you want your payee to receive the payment. Depending on the payee and how we're able to deliver the payment (either electronically or by paper check), your payee will receive the payment 1 to 5 business days after the 'Send on' date. Note (for credit card payments): If you schedule a same-day payment after the cutoff time, we'll process it the next day, except on Saturdays. The cutoff time for same-day payments varies by service. For example, the cutoff time for initiating Bill Pay payments to external (non-Chase) payees is 8 PM ET on a business day; depending on the payee and how we're able to deliver the payment (either electronically or by paper check), your payee will receive the payment 1 to 5 business days after the 'Send on' date. If it is past the cutoff time or a non-business day, the soonest 'Send on' date will be the following business day. The cutoff time for a loan payment is 7 PM Eastern time for Prime Rate or Commercial Rate-based loan (otherwise 4 PM Eastern time). Lucky Luke, the name of the series is enough to create bursts of laughter. This cowboy cartoon is centered on Lucky Luke who is known to ‘shoot faster than his shadow’. Jolly Jumper his horse and another interesting character, Rantanplan his dog seen in few episodes add more fun to the series. The Dalton brothers Jack, Averell, Joe, and William are the notorious gangsters in the series and they are the sworn enemies of Lucky Luke. Lucky Luke has a huge fan base and I am proud to be one among the fans. Like every other kid, Luke is my favorite childhood hero. Along with my childhood friends, I used to dress like Lucky with a cowboy hat and a toy gun. When I was a child, I was so influenced by the character that I put my parents to a great deal of trouble by pestering them to have one horse bought so that I can ride on it as Lucky Luke. Media in category 'Lucky Luke' The following 38 files are in this category, out of 38 total. The series features villains and incidental characters based on real persons belonging to late 19 th century. Belgian artist Morris is the father of Lucky Luke, having sketched the character from 1946 until his death in 2001. After Morris’s death in 2001, French artist Achde picked up the job of drawing Lucky Luke characters. The series has been translated into multiple foreign languages to its credit including Afrikaans, Arabic, Bengali, Tamil, Italian, Spanish etc. In 1987, a spin-off series called Rantanplan with Luke’s dog started to appear. Some of my favorite episodes include “Lucky Luke – The Flying Man”. After Morris’s death in 2001, French artist Achde picked up the job of drawing Lucky Luke characters. Some of my favorite episodes include “Lucky Luke – The Flying Man”. The series starts with a bank robbery investigation scene where Lucky Luke tries to catch the bank robber with the help of the robbers’ minty fresh breath. He reaches Slumberville, a ‘no smokin’, no spitting, no fighting, no yelling, no cursing and no chewing tobacco’ place in his pursuit of robbers. The story becomes thrilling at one point of time where Lucky Luke is tied up with a rope. Lucky Luke with the help of his much resourceful and obedient Jolly Jumper gets untied. He finally catches Baron the culprit who is the bank robber in a fantastic mid-air chase on two hot air balloons. Apparently, Baron’s hot air balloon is completely filled with currency and he loses all the currency when his hot air balloon gets damaged midair. ‘The Daltons Rise in air’ is another interesting episode which also has a lot of mid air fight and chase. Overall Lucky Luke series is an interesting cowboy comic that is funny and exciting to watch. VPN as an option for people who cannot watch Lucky Luke and more is one of the best-known and top-rated comic series in Europe and has been translated into various languages. General Lucky Luke series is an intriguing cowboy cartoon that is amusing and energizing to watch. Be that as it may, a few people may not have access the cartoon because of their location and geographical restrictions. A Virtual Private Network (VPN) can make it seem, by all accounts, that a user is surfing the web from a country per moment, although they’re living entirely in another country. This is to a great degree supportive for some who want to enjoy the service and Int net TV but are confined by geographic limitations. Citizens outside the US (Australia, Canada, UK, Germany, Spain, France, Dubai and other countries) can likewise enjoy the enormous advantage from the VPN service provider. Freely do your favorite activities online cause VPN feature will let you do it. In the least complex terms, a Virtual Private Network is utilized to make a safe, encrypted service which can be thought of like a passage between your device and a server operated by the VPN. In an expert setting, this tunnel makes user Internet activity secure and private, moreover, it becomes inaccessible to third parties or hackers. With a VPN, Internet users will have full access to numerous server locations around the globe and could access restricted streaming services and websites. They can stream many videos with boundless transfer speed and the best part is that those users won’t need to stress over information logging. Furthermore, utilizing a VPN to watch Prime Instant Videos like Lucky Luke (cartoon) can enhance your video quality, particularly if your network access supplier has been known to throttle transmission capacity on streaming sites. Also, you can use a VPN to unblock content not only on your phone or computer but on other devices as well. A VPN can be utilized on any gadget and sidetracks the movement from any streaming service over its servers, so your television, phone, tablet and any other device can unblock it. There is no doubt that cartoons are adored by a great many people regardless of their age. Not just children are keen on watching cartoon shows on the web. Grown-ups are similarly intrigued by cartoon streaming sites, mostly because of the nostalgia they experience. Hence, if you need to unblock Prime videos, for example, Lucky Luke, a is the best way to do so. Voiced by: Marcel Bozzuffi in Daisy Town (French), Daniel Ceccaldi in La Ballade des Dalton (French) and Peter Wanngren (Swedish) The title character, a lonesome cowboy far from home, drifting around the West. Being slow on words, but quick on reflexes, he's known to shoot faster than his own shadow. •: Even without taking his in account, he is physically strong enough to defeat much bigger opponents than him in a bare hands fight,, and. •: He is selfless, altruistic, and always does the right thing. But you don't want to make him angry. Luke: Here [cigarette] savor it you don't get to smoke much at the end of a rope. •: While this was frequent at the times in franco-belgian comics, Lucky Luke deserves a special mention in that he is explicitly stated to dislike the very concept of being in a relationship. In one book, when asked to escort a group of women to a new town, he and almost refuses to provide his help until being convinced nothing will happen. •: Tends to bring his help to whoever he meets during his journeys. There are some occasions where he tries to leave them to their fate, frequently out of frustration about their stupidity (particularly when it comes to ), but either,. • Averted in The Rivals of Painful Gulch. He wanted out but the bridge he was crossing blew up due to one of the families' antics. He came back solely for revenge. •: At the end of Bounty Hunter, towards titular Elliot Belt. During the album, Belt showed himself willing to provoke a war between the local Indians and settlers to capture a man and tried to kill Luke when the latter proved the man was actually innocent. Because of his actions,, but after capturing him Luke asks the sheriff to release him. And since the reward on his head is quite big, a lot of bounty hunters are going to chase after Belt. •: Again, he owes a lot of his victory to cunning and wits rather than just his skills. •: Being one of the few with a sound mind, he's sure to do this from time to time. •: He is Lucky Luke, THE Lucky Luke. In 'The Tenderfoot' when he told a lynch mob that surrounded him to stand down and bring Waldo for due process and avoid a bloodbath (Luke only had Waldo and himself against almost ten person), they comply with one simply explaining: Ever saw Lucky Luke shooting? •: One of the most classic examples of the trope. Almost all his adventures can be summed up as him arriving in a particular place, helping the locals with their current issue, then leaving galloping toward the sunset while singing he is a poor lonesome cowboy. •: Enough to be the image for the page. •: Particularly when it comes to the Daltons and. He is never surprised when informed they are on the run again. •: Despite being best-known for his skills as a marksman, he actually defeats a lot of his opponents by outsmarting them rather than by force. The Daltons, especially, he usually takes down by outsmarting them rather than actually fighting them. •: Well, he is a cowboy. •: Has an unfortunate tendency of following this even in life-or-death situations. In the Daltons' mother Ma Dalton came really close to shooting him dead, just because he refused to duel an old lady, despite the fact that he could own the rights to the trope! Would not disarm a girl much? •: Possibly the best-known example in. •: According to the 2009 movie, his full name is really John Luke. •: Almost everybody in-universe has heard of him. •: He's possibly. •: In the 2009 movie, his mother was an American Native, allowing the to get in a few racist digs at him. The subject hasn't come up in the comics, though. •: He is rather skinny, but he can easily outmatch much bigger and more muscular people than him in brawl. •: A White cowboy hat. •: Quite often, due to him often running in towns full of crazy people. This typically tends to irritate him, as people are unlikely to listen to reason, forcing him to. •: 'Lucky Luke? Not the Lucky Luke?' •: Jolly Jumper is the closest thing he has that passes for friend and family, when he is kidnapped Luke is shaking down people by threatening to blow their head off. •: There aren't many people so willing to screw money as much as he is. He simply doesn't care. Heck trying to bribe him to do something immoral is a that once pressed activates the punching system. •: This has been and made fun of in both comics and adaptations. • In the 2007 animated movie, Go West: A Lucky Luke Adventure there's a brief scene where he bonds with Native American Chief Crazy Wolf over the hardships of giving up smoking. Crazy Wolf: Ooooh, Crazy Wolf finally gave up smoking! Lucky Luke: Yep, me too! Crazy Wolf: Did you suffer from many cravings? Lucky Luke: Yep — I had to chew on a piece of straw for a long time. • In the 2009 live-action movie, there's a short scene playing during the, where Lucky Luke is sitting with his back to the camera, smoking a cigarette. Then he realizes the camera is on him, does a double take, throws away the cigarette and replaces it with the familiar piece of straw before turning back to the audience and saying, somewhat sheepishly: 'Hello! My name is Lucky Luke. I quit smoking back in '83. I feel much better now.' • It becomes an important plot point in the 2016 book L'Homme qui tua Lucky Luke ('The man who killed Lucky Luke') by Matthieu Bonhomme. In said book, Lucky Luke meets a man named Doc Holiday, himself a chainsmoker whose lungs are starting to get the better of him. Doc later notices Luke's hands shaking from withdrawal after he was forced to stop smoking for a few days due to a tobacco shortage in town. Worried about Luke getting fatally shot because of this, he impersonates him in a duel and gets shot in the back by his opponent's father, who then brags about being. He uses his to beg a distraught Luke to quit smoking before it is too late. At the end of the book, Luke is then seen picking up a piece of straw from Doc's grave and starts chewing on it as he leaves the town. •: Combined with, it makes him the deadliest shooter the Old West has ever known. As time went on, he became faster and preferred. •: A is that he's consistently faster at drawing his gun than even his own shadow (). Voiced by: Gunnar Ernblad (Swedish) Lucky Luke's wisecracking horse and only partner to remain at the his side at all times. •: Can converse freely with any other animal in the series, and talks to himself () a lot. Humans can't understand him, though Lucky Luke is hinted to at least get the general gist of it for the most part. In the 2009 movie, he's upgraded to. •: Usually the fastest horse in the West and when other horses tell him that they are trained to show up at their master's whistle Jumper one up them by whistling Luke to show up. •: Which helps a lot in dealing with the trouble in a Wild West setting. •: She is introduced in her first starring appearance with this, saving Luke from a bunch of Natives of her own. •: A rare female example. •: Epically defied all the time. •: Her temper is more fiery than her hair. •: She claims to be married to Wild Bill Hickok, a famous real-life gunslinger, until he was killed. •: Based on the real life. •: In her first (cameo) appearance in Lucky Luke contre Joss Jamon, she is mistakenly portrayed as a villainess, also. This was eventually corrected and she was introduced as an ally of Luke in her first leading role. • One of the later album deals with her suffering an in-universe example of the trope, when a legend that she is supposedly a witch and demoness who came as a ghost to haunt a city spreads throughout the west. It however turns out to be a created by a group of bandits who wanted to keep unwanted people away from a deserted town where they discovered a new gold mine. Naturally, Calamity Jane is not amused about her likeness being used as a 'scarecrow' (as she puts it). •: A G-Rated version of the trope; notably, her real life self played this trope straight. •: Her cooking skills are so bad that at one point, a cowboy was willing to die rather than eat her cakes. •: She is one of the few non-antagonist characters to appear as a in more than one book (as well as one movie and at least two animated appearances), and the only female character Luke has actually developped interactions with (excluding Ma Dalton). However, their relationship is platonic and they treat each other like good friends with not one hint of romance. •: Seems to have become this with Luke. Half of her balloons are filled with skulls and stars if it any indication. •: Like Luke she can go toe to toe with men bigger than her and even arm wrestle them. •: She was a clear-cut example from childhood. •: Downplayed; she couldn't act less feminine and her tastes are completely boyish, but when she becomes the owner of a saloon in her first story, one of her main ambitions was to create a small area reserved to ladies, where she would serve them tea and cakes. Later in the same story, Lucky Luke manages to have her trained into at least pretending to be a lady, though her true personality is still there and doesn't take long to show up again. She also blushes when Lucky Luke kisses her hand. •: Like her real-life counterpart, she enjoys adding lots of juicy details when telling stories about her life, with a different version each time. She admits this when telling those stories to Luke. •: Unlike Luke, she usually favors rifles over guns. Antagonists The Daltons. Voiced by: Johan Hedenberg (Swedish) The oldest, but shortest, of the brothers and the mastermind of their various schemes and prison breaks. •: Pretty much his most frequent state. •: What the Joker is to Batman, Joe is to Lucky Luke. At least in his mind. •: Any mention of Lucky Luke's name is sure to make him go completely crazy. Same goes for seeing him in person, for the matter. •: The closest thing the series has to a recurring one. •: To Averell. Though to be fair, his anger and brutality usually is provoked by Averell's stupidity more than anything. Otherwise, it has been shown he does care about all his brothers, Averell included. •: In his own mind he is by far the smartest of his brothers, but he is completely uneducated and unfamiliar with anything you'd learn to school. To give an example, he thinks Christopher Colombus was the first authentic American. •: He is often subject to slapstick, things almost never go his way, and he is to his mother. •: 'Lucky Luke! I hate Lucky Luke!' •: He is probably as unlucky as Luke is lucky. •: Ok not deadpan per se, but even he can get snarky considering how stupid people around him are. •: When he is not carrying the, he is the smartest of the four. Ahem, by comparison. •: Regularly verbally and physically abuses his brothers, especially Averell, and out of the four he is the most inclined to commit crime. •: When he explains to the Natives the effect the people of Daisy Town will have on them. • Also, in the Rantanplan spin-off, he at one point calls out the Warden for failing not only to prevent them from escaping, but also to prevent people from entering in the Penitentiary to abduct prisoners. While the scene is played for laughs, the Wardens do suck at their job. •: Has his moments, like when he convinces the Natives to attack Daisy Town. •: Shortest of the brother and also the one in charge. •: Jack even compares the two at one point. •: He often insists on killing Luke himself. •: Out of all his brothers, he is the one who hates Luke the most. •: Joe is both the shortest and the leader of the gang, but it is actually a subversion in that he thinks he's the brains of the gang (rather in the way that Oliver Hardy's character believed himself to be much smarter than Stan Laurel's), but he's actually just as stupid as his brothers, only in a different way. Goscinny himself once pointed out that Joe is merely the most evil of the Daltons and that evil does not equal smart. •: His answer for the slightest provocation is to shoot it. •: He has big issue with Ma Dalton liking Averell more than him. William Dalton. Voiced by: Tommy Nilsson (Swedish) The second youngest Dalton brother. In a number of stories and adaptations accidentally named 'William.' •: To a certain extent he and William admire Joe and follow him out of respect. They have their limits however. •: 'Joe, Calm down!' And 'Shut up, Averell!' (shared with William). •: With William. •: In Lone Riders, Jack tries to kidnap and ransom a bank director for 1 million $ but find out that he can't give him money. He went so far as to give Jack an Mayor Impunity to prevent Lucky Luke from arresting him. •: He believes he is the most sophisticated in the family. Being the only one that can read to an elementary school level technically make him this by default. •: Surprisingly. In the new adventures episode The Daltons Baby he objects along with William and Averell to Joe's decision to leave the baby to the vultures, demonstrating that killing babies is off-limits for them. •: Between their more fleshed-out brothers, William and Jack function as this most of the time. Which helps to explain why even Goscinny and Morris on several occasions mixed up the two. •: Another role he shares with William. As such, they constantly need to keep Joe off Averell's throat. •: In his original appearance. This was sadly dropped in later books. •: All three are this to some extent (Averell not so much), but he is almost as much as Joe, delighting in his own cunning and believing that he will be the one to trick Luke. •: He's the most knowledgeable about things like history and different cultures, sometimes acting as to his brothers. Averell Dalton. Voiced by: Mattias Knave (Swedish) The youngest, tallest and dumbest (or at any rate most obviously dumb) of the Dalton brothers. •: He simply follows his family's footsteps. Some gags are even about him not being wanted for his crimes since he is so harmless. Although once he was on probation he did say it was funnier when they were stealing bank and having the saloon for themselves. •: To the point one of his is 'When do we eat?' •: He originally was introduced as the physically strongest of the the four. He still displays shades of this occasionally in later books, but for most he is essentially portrayed as just the stupidest. •: He usually is the one who takes hits when Joe is pissed off. ![]() Field Reporter - Bern's Death (uncredited) Produced. The Paperback of the Pucked: The Pucked Series, Book 1 by Helena Hunting at Barnes & Noble. FREE Shipping on $25 or more! Pucked Series by Helena Hunting Funny, Sexy Contemporary Romance Series by Helena Hunting With a famous NHL player for a stepbrother, Violet Hall is well acquainted with the playboy reputation of many a hockey star. So of course she isn’t interested in legendary team captain Alex Waters or his pretty, beat-up face and rock-hard six-pack abs. When Alex inadvertently obliterates Violet’s misapprehension regarding the inferior intellect of hockey players, he becomes much more than just a hot body with the face to match. Suffering from a complete lapse in judgment, Violet discovers just how good Alex is with the hockey stick in his pants. Violet believes her night of orgasmic magic with Alex is just that: one night. But Alex starts to call. And email and send extravagant—and quirky—gifts. Suddenly, he’s too difficult to ignore, and nearly impossible not to like. The problem is, the media portrays Alex as a total player, and Violet doesn’t want to be part of the game. My Mini Review: ( complete with some funny quotes) I really pucking loved the stupid vagina jokes and dick jokes and other immature idiocies in Pucked. I also enjoyed the romance, the angst, the sweetness, and the awesome sex. From what I’ve seen, you either love Violet or hate her. I totally loved her, but it took a little time before I came to that conclusion. The playful banter between the hero and heroine were exactly what I absolutely LOVE to read about, and I think Ms. Hunting did an amazing job. Pucked was the perfect blend of silly humor, sweet romance and hot sex, and I hope she writes a spin-off, because I’ll snatch it right up. ![]() ( Hee-heesnatch)||| (Book 2) by Helena Hunting Miller “Buck” Butterson has been banging his way through life ever since a puck to the face fixed his messed up front teeth. After five years in the NHL, deflecting goals on the ice and scoring them with puck bunnies, Miller has decided he’s ready for a girlfriend. A real, non-bunny girlfriend to take on dates, and not jump into bed with after five seconds of conversation. Miller thinks he’s found that woman in his teammate’s sister. Except, unlike team captain and all-around nice guy Alex Waters—who happens to date his stepsister, Miller’s media reputation as a manwhore is well earned. Beyond that minor detail, Miller doesn’t know the first thing about relationships or the time and effort they require. Miller learns—eventually—that if he wants to make Sunshine “Sunny” Waters fall for him, he’s going to have to do a whole lot more than show her his stick skills in the bedroom. My Mini Review ( with quotes): I know this review sounds pretty negative, which isn’t like me, but I expected more after Pucked. The set-up for Pucked Over had me really excited though, and now that I’m reading it, I’m loving it. Overall I really did enjoy Pucked Up. I just didn’t connect with Sunny and felt more sorry for Buck (Miller) than I felt like he was a book boyfriend. I mean the poor guy just had everything go wrong! He had to work, HARD to get Sunny to return his feelings, and I just never felt like he got them back from Sunny 100%. Overall, I would recommend reading this if you loved Pucked, because you will Love Pucked Over too, and you need to read Pucked Up to fill in the blanks. It’s still a fun read, it just didn’t make me want to hug my kindle at the end.||| (Book 3) by Helena Hunting Lily LeBlanc isn’t versed in the art of casual sex, but after seven years in an on-again, off-again relationship, she’s definitely willing to give it a shot. And who better to try it with than her best friend’s boyfriend’s best friend? What could possibly go wrong? Nothing at all. NHL player, Randy Ballistic, lives up to his last name on the ice and in the bedroom. His best friend and teammate has recently given up the puck bunnies and traded them in for a real girlfriend. And she just happens to have a seriously feisty, extra-hot best friend on the rebound. Randy’s more than happy to be Lily’s spring board back into the dating scene. Casual sex is only casual until those pesky things called emotions get involved. Once that happens, someone’s bound to gets pucked over. My Mini Review (): I loved Pucked. I enjoyed Pucked up, even more so because it introduced Lily and Randy from Pucked Over. While not quite as funny as Pucked (because there just can’t be two Violets in one group), Pucked Over was a more mature addition to the series. Don’t worry, not too mature, but this one was filled with a lot more emotion. It was still hilarious and hot but it was also heartfelt and sweet. I enjoyed seeing the growth of Lily and Randy together and apart, and visiting with the couples from the two previous books. If I had to choose between Pucked and Pucked Over, I’d have a hard time. I totally recommend reading the series in order for the full effect.||| (The PUCKED Series Book 4) by Helena Hunting Being engaged to Alex Waters, team captain and the highest paid NHL player in the league, is awesome. How could it not be? In addition to being an amazing hockey player, he’s an incurable romantic with an XL heart, and an XXL hockey stick in his pants. And he knows how to use it. Incredibly, orgasmically well. Alex is the whole package and more. Like his package is insane. Total world record holder material. So it makes complete sense that Violet Hall can’t wait to nail him down to the matrimonial mattress and become Mrs. Violet Waters. It’s so romantic. Violet is totally stoked to set a date. At some point. Likely before the next millennium. Or when Violet stops getting hives every time someone brings up the wedding, and their mothers stop colluding on stadium sized venues. Whichever comes first. ***Forever PUCKED is a followup to PUCKED (The Pucked Series Book 1), while it is not necessary to have read Pucked Up (Book 2) or Pucked Over (Book 3) it is highly recommended to that you read Pucked first.*** Here is my mini review (): It was such a nice surprise that Forever Pucked was a full length book and not just a short wedding story. As funny as Violet is, there was some very serious issues that happened in the book. I loved being back in the Pucked world, especially with Violet and Alex, but to me sometimes it was just too much. Like Violet became a caricature of her already silly self. That being said, I still really enjoyed the book, and I am hoping for a Lance book!||| by Helena Hunting A collection of outtakes, deleted scenes, and cut chapters from your favorite Pucked Series characters. From Pucked Up: Discover just how bad poor Miller “Buck” Butterson’s lukc really is in these deleted chapters, and fall even more in love with the snuggly, reformed manwhore. From Pucked Over: Revisit the sexiest, horniest and most prolifically active couple with outtakes and alternative POV’s from Randy Ballistic. From Forever Pucked: Check out a never before seen outtake, in which Violet defends her Area 51 position, and get a sneak peek at the first chapter of the Pucked sequel.|| by Helena Hunting When the itch for new ink takes over, NHL star Randy Ballistic commissions his trusted tattoo artist to design a new sleeve, and the rest of the PUCKED boys decide it’s time to commemorate their love of hockey with a team tattoo. But it can’t just be about the boys—the PUCKED girls want in on the action, too. Ink cherries will be popped, cupcakes will be consumed, and the hazards and enhancements of boob bling will be pondered. Worlds collide when the hockey boys pay a visit to Inked Armor, the renowned Chicago tattoo studio where master artists Hayden Stryker and Chris Zelter ply their trade. Don’t miss the resulting action and insights in this Pucked series and Clipped Wings crossover novella. ***It is not necessary to read The Clipped Wings series or the Pucked Series prior to reading this novella.*** ***Includes BONUS first chapter previews of PUCKED UNDER and FRACTURE IN INK*** by Helena Hunting Randy Ballistic and Lily LeBlanc are head-over-heels, bed-breakingly, screaming orgasmically in love. But even they have their challenges, mostly outside of the bedroom. With the off-season coming to a close and the boys gearing up for training camp, one more weekend of fun is the perfect way to welcome the new season. The entire crew piles into vehicles and drives to Alex and Violet’s Chicago cottage for a few days of relaxation―and hopefully a chance for Randy to shake the anxiety that’s been plaguing him. Accidental wardrobe malfunctions, typical Violet inspired overshares, and a whole lot of private time round out the perfect weekend getaway. But the moment they return to the city all of Randy’s angst resurfaces with the arrival of a surprise houseguest. ***A PUCKED Series Sequel featuring the couple most likely to be found getting it on in a bathroom. PUCKED UNDER is best read after the standalone novel PUCKED OVER*** Here is my mini review (): If you are a fan of the Pucked Series, I promise you, Pucked Under will not disappoint. We visit with all three couples and touch on the two soon-to-be couples. There was lots of fun, a ton of sex, and lots of friendship, but Pucked Under had a little more emotion than some of the previous ones. Since this is the first audiobook I’ve done in the series, I think that is where I lost a little of the love. They just aren’t anywhere near as funny via audio as they were in my head. But I love Lily and Randy, and I was thrilled to dig even deeper into their relationship. I can’t wait for more in the series!||| by Helena Hunting *A Standalone novel* I’m NHL defenseman Lance Romero, AKA Lance “Romance.” I’m notorious for parties and excess. I have the most penalty minutes in the league. I get into the most fights. I take the most hits. I’m a player on and off the ice. I’m the one women with no inhibitions want. Not because I like the notoriety, but because I don’t know how to be any other way. I have secrets. Ones I shared with the wrong person, and she used them against me. Sometimes she still does. I should cut ties. But she makes it difficult, because she’s the kind of bad I deserve. At least that’s what I believed until someone from my past gets caught up in my present. She’s all the good things in this world. She lights up my dark. I shouldn’t want her. I should leave her alone. Here is my mini review (): Pucked Off is in many ways the best in the Pucked series. Though the original,, will always be my favorite (how can you not love Super MC?), Pucked Off is so different you can’t even compare it. I would not call it a romantic comedy, the way the rest of the series is. It is a serious, emotional, angsty book, with lots of the fun humor Helena is known for to break up the emotion. I think Pucked Off can absolutely stand alone, and in some ways it may be better to read this first, especially if you like an angstier, more emotional story.|. Hoping to kick-start her career, Wendy has left work with the local theatre to take a job as an assistant to Priscilla Hall, the most prestigious designer in the city. Hall works Wendy around the clock, which is how Wendy finds herself trapped in an elevator late one night with an incredibly handsome stranger. Wendy and the mystery man share an impulsive, romantic, life-changing kiss before the doors open and Wendy runs out, leaving him behind. The next day at work, Wendy answers the door to find the handsome gentleman standing in front of her. Turns out he's Adam Hughes, a wealthy philanthropist - and Ms. Hall's long distance boyfriend. He doesn't recognize Wendy, which makes things all the more awkward for her when Ms. Hall assigns her to decorate his house for a big party at Christmas. As the holidays approach and Wendy and Adam spend more and more time together, Wendy realizes she's falling in love. I am not a fan of the cheesy, predictable TV Christmas movies but the original however, was well-made, had a rich look production wise and was more than adequately acted. Its' predictability was easily forgiven because the journey to the inevitable end was so charming. This one barely makes it to acceptable. ![]() The acting by most is not good. Some is quite bad like the tarty girlfriend and Dad while others do well, ahem - Jonathon Bennett (Sebastian) and Elisabeth Rohm. The boss lady was alright, too. The love interest man (Cooper) carries a dopey smile throughout the whole film and isn't nearly slick enough to be a worldly, charming Lothario. The make-up level for the actors was also set to soap opera level. Overall, it's one to skip. Transmission of texts in the Vedic period was by, preserved with precision with the help of elaborate. A literary tradition is traceable in post-Vedic times, after the rise of in the, perhaps earliest in the recension of the Yajurveda about the 1st century BC; however oral tradition of transmission remained active. Witzel suggests the possibility of written Vedic texts towards the end of 1st millennium BCE. Some scholars such as Jack Goody state that 'the Vedas are not the product of an oral society', basing this view by comparing inconsistencies in the transmitted versions of literature from various oral societies such as the Greek, Serbia and other cultures, then noting that the Vedic literature is too consistent and vast to have been composed and transmitted orally across generations, without being written down. However, adds Goody, the Vedic texts likely involved both a written and oral tradition, calling it a 'parallel products of a literate society'. Due to the ephemeral nature of the manuscript material (birch bark or palm leaves), surviving manuscripts rarely surpass an age of a few hundred years. Notes that the rituals, rites and ceremonies described in these ancient texts reconstruct to a large degree the Indo-European marriage rituals observed in a region spanning the Indian subcontinent, Persia and the European area, and some greater details are found in the Vedic era texts such as the Grhya Sūtras. Only one version of the Rigveda is known to have survived into the modern era. Several different versions of the Sama Veda and the Atharva Veda are known, and many different versions of the Yajur Veda have been found in different parts of South Asia. (Hymn of non-Eternity): Who really knows? Who can here proclaim it? Whence, whence this creation sprang? Gods came later, after the creation of this universe. Who then knows whence it has arisen? Whether God's will created it, or whether He was mute; Only He who is its overseer in highest heaven knows, He only knows, or perhaps He does not know. — 10.129.6-7 The is the oldest extant text. It is a collection of 1,028 and 10,600 verses in all, organized into ten books (Sanskrit: mandalas). The hymns are dedicated to. The books were composed by poets from different priestly groups over a period of several centuries from roughly the second half of the 2nd millennium BC (the early ), starting with the () region of the northwest. The Rigveda is structured based on clear principles – the Veda begins with a small book addressed to Agni, Indra, and other gods, all arranged according to decreasing total number of hymns in each deity collection; for each deity series, the hymns progress from longer to shorter ones, but the number of hymns per book increases. Finally, the meter too is systematically arranged from jagati and tristubh to anustubh and gayatri as the text progresses. In terms of substance, the nature of hymns shift from praise of deities in early books to with questions such as, 'what is the origin of the universe?, do even gods know the answer?' , the virtue of (charity) in society, and other metaphysical issues in its hymns. There are similarities between the mythology, rituals and linguistics in Rigveda and those found in ancient central Asia, Iranian and Hindukush (Afghanistan) regions. Main article: The consists of 1549 stanzas, taken almost entirely (except for 75 mantras) from the Rigveda. The Samaveda samhita has two major parts. The first part includes four melody collections (gāna, गान) and the second part three verse “books” (ārcika, आर्चिक). A melody in the song books corresponds to a verse in the arcika books. Just as in the Rigveda, the early sections of Samaveda typically begin with hymns to Agni and Indra but shift to the abstract. Their meters shift also in a descending order. The songs in the later sections of the Samaveda have the least deviation from the hymns derived from the Rigveda. In the Samaveda, some of the Rigvedic verses are repeated. Including repetitions, there are a total of 1875 verses numbered in the Samaveda recension translated by Griffith. Two major recensions have survived, the Kauthuma/Ranayaniya and the Jaiminiya. Its purpose was liturgical, and they were the repertoire of the or 'singer' priests. Main article: The consists of prose mantras. It is a compilation of ritual offering formulas that were said by a priest while an individual performed ritual actions such as those before the fire. The earliest and most ancient layer of Yajurveda includes about 1,875 verses, that are distinct yet borrow and build upon the foundation of verses in. Unlike the Samaveda which is almost entirely based on Rigveda mantras and structured as songs, the Yajurveda samhitas are in prose and linguistically, they are different from earlier Vedic texts. The Yajur Veda has been the primary source of information about sacrifices during Vedic times and associated rituals. There are two major groups of texts in this Veda: the 'Black' ( Krishna) and the 'White' ( Shukla). The term 'black' implies 'the un-arranged, motley collection' of verses in Yajurveda, in contrast to the 'white' (well arranged) Yajurveda. The White Yajurveda separates the Samhita from its Brahmana (the ), the Black Yajurveda intersperses the Samhita with Brahmana commentary. Of the Black Yajurveda, texts from four major schools have survived (Maitrayani, Katha, Kapisthala-Katha, Taittiriya), while of the White Yajurveda, two (Kanva and Madhyandina). The youngest layer of Yajurveda text is not related to rituals nor sacrifice, it includes the largest collection of primary Upanishads, influential to various schools of. Further information: The Brahmanas are commentaries, explanation of proper methods and meaning of Vedic Samhita rituals in the four Vedas. They also incorporate myths, legends and in some cases philosophy. Each regional Vedic (school) has its own operating manual-like Brahmana text, most of which have been lost. A total of 19 Brahmana texts have survived into modern times: two associated with the, six with the, ten with the and one with the. The oldest dated to about 900 BC, while the youngest Brahmanas (such as the ), were complete by about 700 BC. According to, the final codification of the Brahmanas took place in pre-Buddhist times (ca. The substance of the Brahmana text varies with each Veda. For example, the first chapter of the Chandogya Brahmana, one of the oldest Brahmanas, includes eight ritual suktas (hymns) for the ceremony of marriage and rituals at the birth of a child. The first hymn is a recitation that accompanies offering a oblation to Agni (fire) on the occasion of a marriage, and the hymn prays for prosperity of the couple getting married. The second hymn wishes for their long life, kind relatives, and a numerous progeny. The third hymn is a mutual marriage pledge, between the bride and groom, by which the two bind themselves to each other. The sixth through last hymns of the first chapter in Chandogya Brahmana are ritual celebrations on the birth of a child and wishes for health, wealth, and prosperity with a profusion of cows and. However, these verses are incomplete expositions, and their complete context emerges only with the Samhita layer of text. Aranyakas and Upanishads. Further information:,, and The Aranyakas layer of the Vedas include rituals, discussion of symbolic meta-rituals, as well as philosophical speculations. Aranyakas, however, neither are homogeneous in content nor in structure. They are a medley of instructions and ideas, and some include chapters of Upanishads within them. Two theories have been proposed on the origin of the word Aranyakas. One theory holds that these texts were meant to be studied in a forest, while the other holds that the name came from these being the manuals of allegorical interpretation of sacrifices, for those in (retired, forest-dwelling) stage of their life, according to the historic age-based system of human life. The Upanishads reflect the last composed layer of texts in the Vedas. They are commonly referred to as, variously interpreted to mean either the 'last chapters, parts of the Vedas' or 'the object, the highest purpose of the Veda'. The concepts of (Ultimate Reality) and (Soul, Self) are central ideas in all the, and 'Know your Ātman' their thematic focus. The Upanishads are the foundation of Hindu philosophical thought and its diverse traditions. Of the Vedic corpus, they alone are widely known, and the central ideas of the Upanishads have influenced the diverse traditions of Hinduism. Aranyakas are sometimes identified as karma-kanda (ritualistic section), while the Upanishads are identified as jnana-kanda (spirituality section). In an alternate classification, the early part of Vedas are called and the commentary are called the which together are identified as the ceremonial karma-kanda, while Aranyakas and Upanishads are referred to as the jnana-kanda. Post-Vedic literature Vedanga. Main article: The Vedangas developed towards the end of the vedic period, around or after the middle of the 1st millennium BC. These auxiliary fields of Vedic studies emerged because the language of the Vedas, composed centuries earlier, became too archaic to the people of that time. The Vedangas were sciences that focused on helping understand and interpret the Vedas that had been composed many centuries earlier. The six subjects of Vedanga are phonetics (), poetic meter (), grammar (), etymology and linguistics (), rituals and rites of passage (), time keeping and astronomy (). Vedangas developed as ancillary studies for the Vedas, but its insights into meters, structure of sound and language, grammar, linguistic analysis and other subjects influenced post-Vedic studies, arts, culture and various schools of. The Kalpa Vedanga studies, for example, gave rise to the Dharma-sutras, which later expanded into Dharma-shastras. Main article: The Puranas is a vast genre of encyclopedic Indian literature about a wide range of topics particularly myths, legends and other traditional lore. Several of these texts are named after major deities such as Vishnu, Shiva and Devi. There are 18 Maha Puranas (Great Puranas) and 18 Upa Puranas (Minor Puranas), with over 400,000 verses. The Puranas have been influential in the culture. They are considered Vaidika (congruent with Vedic literature). The has been among the most celebrated and popular text in the Puranic genre, and is of tenor. Hailing from the east and west coasts, Tumbledown formed to take a dying breed of music – classic rock-and-roll – and “make it new.” Spiced with Americana, alt-country and pop, the band takes you on a journey through dark ballads, sweet love songs and rollicking road anthems. Ranging from soft to raucous to brooding, Tumbledown’s first EP, In Between, out February 17, 2017, exposes the band’s fun yet contemplative spirit. As transplants to Portland, Tyler and Scott began playing together in 2012, believing they had something unique to contribute to the city’s thriving music scene. Combining their distinctive solo songs, the duo began performing regularly at Vertigo Brewing, honing their skills while enjoying the live atmosphere and free beer. But it was clear that something was missing. John came to be the backbone of the band in 2013, and through a series of happy coincidences Brian and Dave joined soon thereafter. With the lineup complete, Tumbledown is focused on recording and performing the band’s 30+ original songs in 2017. The Band Tyler: Vocals, guitar, reluctant band leader. Not just a humble guy with great hair, Tyler can write a damn pretty song and has the guitar chops to solo with the best of them. Born of a musician, he was influenced not only by rock, but genres as far reaching as R&B, folk music, jazz, and everything in between. Having recorded two dozen songs by the age of 18, he is no stranger to the hard, joyful work of making music and finding that perfect sound. Scott: Vocals, guitar, harp. Has a dream of combining the sounds of Dylan, Springsteen, and Young into a new form of its own. Add a pint of whiskey, along with the haunting and provocative beauty of Pink Floyd, Radiohead, and Elliot Smith and you’ll be wrapped up in the themes that keep him up at night. A devotee of the minimalist style of his heroes, Scott has a passionate feel for music that comes out in his simple, strong lyrics, and dark, coarse voice. Baby grand piano and import car steering wheels alloyed John’s drum style into the crisp yet washy syncopated sound that emanates from his kit. Once in a while you might hear something that resembles a fill, but more often you’ll feel instead the tightly woven groove of an eclectic array of musical genres. John’s ethos seeks to at once release the galloping hounds of rhythm while gently cradling the tonal puppy in his free arm. Brian: A third-generation four-string musician with roots in Ragtime, Barbershop, Swing and Doo Wop, Brian carves his own path with new soulful grooves. Equally at home laying down a bassline with his voice on a street corner as with his Fender in a corner pub. You never know where the muse will take him, but you can be sure you will feel it in your bones. Get Tumbledown Updates by Email Get the latest Tumbledown news, including new show dates! |
